Hi Dan and Ali,
JoAnn and I returned to PV last Tuesday, a couple days prior to the beginning of our stay at OC. We stayed those couple night downtown and had a blast. It’s a completely different atmosphere downtown, very enjoyable for a couple nights. But that’s all! 😃
One evening we attended a performance of an Elton John impersonator: Rocketman! It was just a lot of fun and great music. And afterwards, a pic:Of JoAnn and the Rocketman! Their outfits almost match!
We moved to OC on Thursday afternoon and on Fri evening we had guests for dinner! One of the OC Board of directors and his wife, Brian and Marge Jacobs, were staying in PV. So we invited them for dinner and a plunge in the pool. Dinner was prepared by the Floating Chef: spinach & fruit salad and Mahi Mahi. Also a lot of fun. Brian is a member of the wine making group that I have helped a few times.
Yesterday we did a thoroughly spontaneous and crazy thing that just turned out to be a HOOT of a good time. We went to a BINGO GAME. It was held at a bar/restaurant/theater we’d been to several times, Incanto, and enjoyed. Here is the website ad:Neither of us had any idea of what to expect. I thought we might be one of only a few attending. Boy. Was I wrong! When our cab dropped us off, there was a line of cabs in front of the place dropping off guests. And when we got upstairs to the bar/theater, the place was PACKED!
Aunt Pearl, the guy who owns the Incanto, used a theme from a popular play, something “Tuna” all evening. And while calling the Bingo, he had the entire audience rolling in laughter! We didn’t win anything, but I have already made reservations to take Kim and Reg there next Sat! But don’t mention this to them. We want it to be a surprise!
Today, Sun, is a spectacularly nice day, 100 mile visibility, light breeze and bright blue skies.
A 180 degree pano.
Hurricane Norma thankfully passed by PV well offshore. Cabo wasn’t so lucky. But Norma’s passing did create some serious storm surge and big waves here. The entire beach was roped off. And a lot of beach sand was deposited on the Malacon (the sea front walk).
A very lazy day for us today. The highlight of the morning so far is we both did our PT! And we will have left over Mahi Mahi for diner. A great afternoon for reading and occasional dips in the pool!
Love, Dad
